announces the launch of our
2009 Backyard Farming Series

Spoutwood Farm Center, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational farm located in Glen Rock, PA, in southern York County, is proud to announce its 2009 Backyard Farming series. A program of the Sustainable Living Institute and Spoutwood, the Backyard Farming series is a set of five classes consisting of the following titles:
• Getting Started in Organic Agriculture April 22
• Backyard Vegetable Farming May 20
• Backyard Chickens: Raising Layers June 17
• Backyard Beekeeping, and July 15
• Preserving Summer's Bounty August 20
Participants may sign up for individual classes, or the full series (there is a discount for signing up for the complete series). Individual classes cost $25/person, and are held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 or 9:00 p.m. on the dates above (third Wednesdays, except for the first class which is the fourth Wednesday in April. Persons signing up for (and paying for) the entire series in advance pay a discounted rate of only $110. Unless otherwise noted, classes are held rain or shine.

Spoutwood Farm Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational farm in Glen Rock, PA, close to the Mason-Dixon line, 45 minutes north of Baltimore, MD, 25 minutes south of York, PA and convenient from Lancaster, Harrisburg, Hanover and Gettysburg, PA as well as Westminster, MD. Spoutwood is home to the annual May Day Fairie Festival (May 1-3, 2009), the annual Mother Earth Harvest Fair (October), and operates a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) project, offering Certified Naturally Grown vegetables by subscription to more than 100 shareholder families.
