2006 King and Queen Queen Lavender Joy and King Bruin first met many years ago. When she was young and foolish, Lavender Joy didn't want to migrate south with the other fairies because she didn't want to leave the beautiful mountains in Maine where she lived. Then an early snowstorm came to the forest where the fairies lived . Bruin, who was just a cub at the time, found her shivering and kept her warm until her wings could thaw out and she could finish her journey. Lavender was the first to find the festival, where she helped with the magic wands and fairy dust. But her favorite part of the festival was getting the fairy homes ready and giving tours of the fairy village. Bruin saw that she was making many friends and having a good time and he joined her. (Besides he didn't like staying home alone) He was very talented at building stages for the performers, channeling the magical electricity for the food and the music, and organizing the many large vehicles need for people coming and going. What they value most is their family and their home."Friends are our greatest treasure". Whenever they can they love to return to the mountains and river in the land of Cacapon, where the river speaks to them and calls their names, and the trees welcome them at the end of a winding mountain path.
A long. long time ago the powers that be decided they needed a rabble rouser...someone who wasn't afraid to stir things up and apply a little elbow grease...what they got was Otter and his dog, Ripley . Not the wisest of gods, nor even that powerful he does tend to stir things up... dust mostly. He does however posses an enormous amount of influence over children...which explains why children always find the muddiest places to play in. Otter has made it his job to cavort, frolic and make merry whenever and wherever possible. In his spare time he bakes mud pies, finger paints, grows turnips and trains monkeys. He also has several self help manuals for the dirtly challenged..."Who Moved My Mud", "The 10 Most Common Traits of a Mud Encrusted Figure", and the historical novel "Mud Throughout; Tracing the Tracks We've Made or the Many Uses of Mud." Always happy to talk and play, please beware he tends to hug as many people as possible. Especially women wearing white or light pastels. Ripley his mutt has also been know to leave muddy prints in her wake...
