Being a fairie is not really a job, it's really more of a way of life! So get busy and live a little!

They are very friendly, helpful and outgoing folk greeting the public, answering questions, handing out programs, maintaining the lost and found, providing basic supplies from the first-aid kit, finding lost parents, sign volunteers in for their shifts, and assign eager new volunteers to unfilled positions and attempting to troubleshoot problems. Some positions may be asked to collect money from fairgoers, make appropriate change, and distribute festival programs. You may be assigned to one of the following positions:

  • Information Imps keep people informed about what is happening at the Festival, handing out maps and Craft tickets as well as keeping watch over lost and found items.
  • Entrance Elves greet the Humans as they come into the festival and collect pretty green paper and coins from them!  SO exciting!

  • Merchant Sprites sell Fairie Festival gear such as t-shirts, stickers and more.

Requirements are for some but not all of the positions above: Ability to interact with the public, patience, the gift of maintaining grace under pressure, elementary math and money handling skills, as well as keeping track of inventory sold at the merchandise table.  **Familiarity with the Fairie Festival System is helpful, but not necessary, to fulfilling this role. Parking Pixies

The Monitor Team (think lizards) Wants You!  Become a Part of the Festival Parking Team!

The monitor team facilitates safe, efficient vehicle movement on the grounds before and after the festival, as well as providing direction and support 24 hours a day. We don't deal with the public too much, which may be a good thing, as we tend to be a bit rag-tag, slightly rowdy, a little nutty, and occasionally clannish with each other. Which is part of the reason we have our own camping area. (camping with us is ot required, but its a nice perk) We have been working together as team for a few years now, and have decided to expand, which is where YOU come in!

Schedule:
We work 24 hours a day,  thursday through monday in 2-3 hour shifts, so there is a lot of flexibility. only 2-3 people are needed at a time except during peak hours.

Requirements:
Must be at least 18. We herd large vehicles with no armor plating on us. Under 18 are welcome as runners or assistants though.

We also need people who are dedicated, responsible, mature, able to think around corners, see in the dark, stare down a tank armed with nothing but flowers.... or want to learn to do these things.

We prefer volunteers who are camping, due to the late nights, early mornings, and everything in between.

Helpful Hobgoblins

These positions are extremely hectic, but then it's over...Here are some of the positions you may be asked to be a:

  • Hospitality Elf - Our staff can get very busy so assisting them while they do their jobs is important. You will be going from station to station, bringing water and possibly food to the staff, checking with the craft areas to see what crafts are possibly no longer being offered and then relay that information to the craft Ticket Table, assist volunteers to their stations or areas, provide brief respite if someone really needed a bathroom break and had no coverage.

The Pillywiggins

The Pillywiggins are the Guides of the Festival these fey assist humans in finding their way or letting them know a little about the Festival and what fairies they may encounter if they decide to ride in the hay wagon to the festival. You can try to entice small children to follow you about, usually resulting in their parents tearing along wildly.

  • Green Greeters - These Fey will assist humans along the footpaths from the parking lots to the Festival guiding them to the Festival. This will be an entertaining experience as people stroll down the footpath to the Festival. Green Greeters will make jokes, give fairie names, or maybe have a skit planned entertaining our guests.  Green Greeters may also be given a small task such as stamping hands for re-entry.
