Vending at the Fair
We are looking for vendors who share in the Fair's vision, to celebrate and showcase healthy, sustainable, and balanced living in the Chesapeake bioregion. Be sure to spend some time looking at our 2010 vendors to get an idea of the sort of work and quality that we have come to expect. Also, please acquaint yourselves with the mission of the Farm, as it is contiguous with the Fair's mission. We are looking for artists who can bring work that can't be found anywhere else!
Eligibility
Your work must be original and you should be present to display and sell. No representatives or dealers allowed. Your work should represent a positive vision of healthy, sustainable, and balanced living.
Your inventory must be 100% work of your own creation. Please do not attempt to sell or submit a non-juried artist's work.
Every artist must complete an application. This applies to "co-ops" or other group ventures. Please be aware that one of you may not be accepted, while the others in your group may be.
No commercially produced merchandise; imported items; articles assembled from plans, kits or molds; or articles composed primarily of pre-manufactured components will be considered. Exception: if you have licensed work such as manufactured figurines, it may represent up to 10% of your inventory.
Only a very limited amount of "re-sell" will be accepted.
Location Spoutwood Farm, Glen Rock PA. Directions to the Farm will be sent with the acceptance package.
Vending Fees
Make your check out to Spoutwood Farm.
The vending fee structure: 10x10 space: $50 10x20 space: $100
DO NOT SEND VENDING FEE AT THIS TIME. Instructions for payment will be sent upon acceptance.
Jury Procedure
All applicants, new and returning, must submit images of your work. We highly encourage you to post your images on your own website. This gives you creative control over how your images appear. It also gives us a chance to learn more about you. In addition, if you are chosen to vend, we will link to your website from our vendor page.
Every artist must apply individually if each artist is creating different products. For example, a husband/wife studio making batik clothing may apply together as that studio. However, a co-op studio where each artist is creating different products (ie., one makes candles, another makes baby clothes, and the other makes bath products), they must EACH apply. Please be aware that there is the possibility that not everyone will be accepted.
If you don't have a website, please let us introduce you to Etsy.com. If you new to selling your work online, Etsy.com is a very supportive environment. Etsy makes it very easy to upload your pictures, provides you with a "shop" where you can introduce yourself not only to us, but to the entire world! Etsy charges just 20 cents per four-month listing and a 3.5% commission on each sale. It offers a tremendous amount of resources, advice and support to help artists with their creative businesses. With over 12 million visitors each month, having your creations on Etsy offers you and your work a great deal of exposure. You are responsible for making sure your URL is valid and available during the entire jury period. If you can't handle a website, consider posting your images on a photo-sharing website such as flickr.com. All you need is a digital camera and an Internet connection to get your pictures uploaded. Then you can make sure they look good. Include the link to your photo-sharing site, along with instructions to logon if necessary, on your application.
If you can't manage that, then email up to 4 JPGs of your work to

with your vendor name in the subject line. The Jpgs should be 800-1000 pixels wide. Please do not send anything larger than 2 mbs. We will upload your images to our jury website, but we will spend no time formatting, rotating, or tweaking your images. Send each Jpgs as an attachment in a separate email with your vendor name in the subject of each.
Images must accurately represent your work. You may only exhibit and sell work of the type represented in your application. In fairness to all, there will be on-site review of all vendors during the Festival. Please be advised that the jury committee may request removal of any work that differs from that represented in your application.
What's your Category?
Please choose a category for your work. Your application will be juried within this category. You may apply for more than one category, but just keep in mind that you may be accepted for one category but not another. Please respect this decision. Applying for more than one category does not necessarily give you a better chance of acceptance; in fact, if you apply in too many categories, we may just get annoyed!
